David, a Paris-based film director & photographer, was brought up in a house filled with arts.

his dad, a passionate photographer himself, offering him his first analog camera when he was a teenager—although david hated photography back then. HE’D WATCH HIS mother paint watercolour AND OIL CONSTANLY, which led him to take drawing lessons—about which he forgot it all, although he once drew an almost-perfect copy of sangoku. His older brothers were either making diy shortfilms with a Hi8 camera that he would watch in repeat—although encouraged to not become a film director but learn a real job like finance or insurances— or master the guitar—putting him on the path to rock & metal music, although he was made understand that those were not music but noise.

Thanks to/despite these encouragements, he built an emotional approach to photography & film directing, whose work has been praised for his unique use of primary colors and light streaks to serve moving stories with a hint of melancholy & dark humor.

David is currently working on his fourth shortfilm “la relève” (the relief), which was selected at the St Quirin “Ecriture à l’image” Residency in 2021.
